Betsy LaVela, GreenFaith Kids Camp director, (a.k.a. Prof. Splash), designs and directs interfaith and Christian summer camp experiences that help children to see that caring for the life and resources on this planet makes a difference. She has designed a series of eco-kids camps that fulfill UN Youth eco-challenge badge requirements. She holds her M.Div. from Bethel Seminary and double majored in Biology and English at Wittenberg University (Springfield, OH). Born in Delaware but raised in Michigan, Betsy loves barn swallows, ducks and turtles - native animals from her childhood on Middle Straits Lake in W. Bloomfield, MI. She resides in Chatham with her husband Joe. They have two grown children. Betsy is also a Kindermusik Maestro of Outreach teaching early childhood music to the children of Neighborhood House in Morristown and the children at Jefferson Park Daycare in Elizabeth, NJ.

Debbie Atulomah is an active member of St. Luke's Church in Gladstone. When she is not at the pool watching swim meets, you may spot her out with her daughters ensuring that they make it to school and scouting events. Debbie is an experienced leader of children's groups and will be with us as her work schedule permits.

Joe LaVela is a handy guy. Recently retired from the legal team at Alcatel-Lucent, Joe loves to ride his bicycle and is planning a 300-mile trip later this summer. He is married to Prof. Splash (a.k.a. Betsy) and has been part of the planning team from the get-go. he has many talents and will share them as part of the Critter Camp arts team. he currently serves as the senior warden at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chatham, NJ. A Chicago native, Joe's favorite childhood haunt was the prairie behind his home where he could find snakes and crayfish.

Kim Greenfield lives in Parsippany, NJ with her family (husband Scott, his mother, four sons and a grown daughter). Kim has been brainstorming with Prof. Splash about this camp since its idea stage. Last summer Kim served as a missionary to an orphanage in Rwanda, Africa. She works with special needs children in her church and has a life-long love of critters.
